Your office internet is only as good as the network it runs on. UFB, the national fibre network, serves homes and businesses alike. Vital doesn’t. So what is Vital fibre? In a nutshell, it’s the Wellington fibre network built for business (and that changes what you get).
Less congestion when it counts
Vital has no residential customers. The network carries business traffic and nothing else, which means less congestion during peak business hours, when your team is on video calls and pushing files to the cloud.
Upload as fast as download
Every Xtreme Networks plan on Vital is symmetrical: your upload speed matches your download. That’s not true of every connection. Another business plan, for example, might offer 950Mbps down but 450Mbps up. Video calls, cloud backups and sending large files all depend on upload, so a fast download number doesn’t help if the upload can’t keep up.
Quick to connect, watched around the clock
Vital runs its own install team, handling fibre installs from start to finish with quick turnaround times. Once you’re connected, Vital’s Wellington-based network operations centre monitors the network 24/7.
What is Vital fibre built on?
Over two decades of business connections. Vital fibre started out as CityLink and now runs throughout Wellington City. It works like UFB: Vital owns the fibre, and internet providers sell connections over it. Xtreme Networks has been connecting Wellington businesses to Vital for more than twenty years.
What it costs
🔸 1Gbps symmetrical: $169 a month
🔸 2Gbps symmetrical: $199 a month
🔸 4Gbps symmetrical: $279 a month
All three include unlimited traffic, static IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and 24/7 business support, on an open term with zero setup fees. Prices exclude GST.
Or run it alongside UFB
Vital doesn’t have to replace your UFB connection. Run both, and you’ve got two connections on two separate networks, so you’re not relying on just one.
Is Vital at your address?
Vital runs throughout Wellington City, but coverage comes down to your building. Send us your address and we’ll confirm whether Vital is available, which plans you can get, and whether it makes sense as your main connection or alongside UFB. Let’s connect.
